Abstract

The study conducted a comprehensive assessment of soil salinity levels and the factors that contribute to its formation on irrigated agricultural lands in the Khorezm massif of the Mingbulak district. The results showed that salinity is widespread across the region: 55,68 % of the total area (3182,54 hectares) is moderately saline, 32,19 % is slightly saline, and 5,19 % and 2,06 % are highly and very highly saline, respectively. Salinization was primarily caused by groundwater levels at a depth of 1,5-2,0 m, poor drainage systems, and high evaporation rates. The study demonstrated that salinity is directly related to the water regime and land reclamation infrastructure. Based on the findings, scientifically based approaches to salinity management were proposed.
