Some ecological and biological characteristics of halophytes. According to the research of V. A. Kovda (1973), about 30% of the Earth's continents' surface is occupied by closed, geochemically stagnant territories, where opportunities are created for the accumulation of easily soluble salts in the soil and underground waters.
