Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the concept of soil degradation, its main forms and causes. The impact of physical, chemical, and biological soil degradation on agricultural production and ecological balance is discussed. Furthermore, methods to combat soil degradation – agrotechnical, reclamation, and biological measures – are analyzed, and recommendations for sustainable land resource management are proposed.
