Abstract

This article presents the results of phytochemical studies of sesquiterpene lactones from two species of the genus Artemisia, belonging to the family Asteraceae. Field experiments were conducted on seed germination and rice yield using sesquiterpenoids α- and β-santonins isolated from Artemisia tenuisecta and A. sogdiana. It was found that a single pre-sowing seed treatment increases rice yield by an average of 12-14 quintals per hectare. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the isolation of biologically active compounds among plants of the Asteraceae family and the study of their biological activity will lead to the creation of economically advantageous, effective, and environmentally friendly plant growth stimulants.
