Abstract

The vegetation consists of xerophilous trees, shrubs, subshrubs, herbaceous perennials, and ephemerals in various combinations. A total of 900 species of higher plants have been identified in Kyzylkum, 432 of which are found in the southwestern region of Kyzylkum. The region's flora is distinctive and unique, with 25% of its flora being endemic to Central Asia and 3.5% (35 species) endemic to southwestern Kyzylkum.
