Abstract
The article examines the degradation state of rainfed serozem soils, including their morphological characteristics, mechanical composition, and the level of humus and nutrient supply. The research results indicate that erosion processes lead to a significant decrease in humus, available phosphorus, and potassium content. It has been scientifically established that soil fertility decline is strongly influenced by slope gradient, exposure, parent material, and moisture conditions. The study emphasizes the need to develop scientifically based agro-technological and meliorative measures aimed at preventing soil degradation, restoring humus reserves, and improving soil fertility in rainfed areas.
