Abstract
The article presents the results of organizing a first-year seed nursery (0,30 ha) and evaluating its effectiveness for the "ITPITI-101" cotton variety belonging to the species Gossypium hirsutum L.. The aim of the study was to maintain variety purity within the primary seed production system of this variety and to determine the stability of its morphological and economically beneficial traits. In the first-year seed nursery (0,30 ha), agrotechnical measures were carried out based on established requirements, and field inspections and certification works were conducted. Plant growth and development, variety purity, yield, and quality indicators of seed cotton were evaluated. During the primary seed production process, individual selection, morphological certification, and field inspections were implemented. Variety purity was 98,6–99,2%, seed cotton yield reached 46,5–47,2 c/ha, and seed cotton output was 18 centers per hectare. Fiber lint outturn was 38,5– 40,2%, and fiber length was 37,2–38,3 mm. These results confirm the genetic stability and high productivity of the variety. The findings validated the stability of biological characteristics, high variety purity, and yield potential of the "ITPITI- 101" variety. The obtained data serve as a scientific basis for the effective organization of primary seed production for this variety.
