Abstract
The article presents information on the nutritional, economic, and medicinal importance of fig (Ficus carica L.), its cultivation worldwide and in Uzbekistan, as well as the main fungal diseases affecting this crop. The causative agents of anthracnose, powdery mildew, rust, fruit rot, and root rot diseases, their biological characteristics, symptoms of infection, and conditions of spread are described. In addition, methods for assessing fig diseases based on route observation, diagonal sampling, and rating scales are presented. Formulas for determining disease incidence and severity are also provided. The research results are of significant importance for evaluating the phytosanitary condition of fig plantations and developing effective disease management measures.
