Abstract
This article examines the principal pests of linden (Tilia platyphyllos), their distribution, and the extent of the damage they cause. Field studies were conducted to determine the pest composition and their relative abundance. The results indicate that aphids (Aphididae) constitute the dominant group, accounting for 56% of the total pest complex. Aphid infestation results in leaf deformation, a reduction in photosynthetic activity, and deterioration of the overall physiological condition of the plant.
Additionally, spider mites (Tetranychidae), leaf rollers (Tortricidae), and scale insects (Coccoidea) were identified as secondary pests. Although their level of damage is relatively low, their negative impact on the phytosanitary condition of the plant has been observed.
Based on the obtained results, scientifically grounded practical measures for protecting linden trees from pests have been developed.
