Abstract

This article examines the efficiency of sprinkler irrigation technology in the cultivation of maize (Zea mays L.) under typical sierozem soil conditions. The study focuses on the scientific calculation of sprinkler irrigation system elements, determination of irrigation parameters, and evaluation of their effects on plant growth, development, and yield. During the experiment, the main components of the irrigation system—pumping units, main and distribution pipelines, as well as the arrangement and operation modes of sprinklers—were investigated. Special attention was given to irrigation intensity, droplet size, and uniform water distribution across the field. In addition, soil moisture dynamics during the maize growing season and irrigation norms were determined, and their impact on plant development was analyzed. The results showed that sprinkler irrigation ensures stable soil moisture, efficient water use, and uniform plant development. It was found that water consumption decreased by 2.0–2.5 times compared to traditional irrigation methods, while maize yield increased. Based on the findings, sprinkler irrigation technology is scientifically justified as an effective approach for ratsiоnal water use, maintaining soil fertility, and achieving high and stable crop yields.
