Abstract
Diseases caused by Alternaria fungi are among the most common and dangerous diseases of many plants worldwide. These fungi primarily affect annual plants, especially vegetable crops, as well as the leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits of fruit trees. The harmful effects of Alternaria fungi on various plants are among the highest yield losses caused by any pathogen. This review provides general information on potato alternaria, including information on the causative agent of this disease, its spread, development, and impact on yields, as well as the fight against it. An in-depth analysis of data provided by world phytopathologists revealed that the Alternaria solani fungus is one of the main pathogens affecting the entire green part of potatoes and tubers. The optimal air temperature for the development of the disease is 22-26°C. As a result of the disease's strong development, yields can decrease to 5-78%.
