Abstract

This article analyzes the main pests in export-oriented cherry orchards and reviews both conventional and innovative pest management methods. Alongside the effectiveness of chemical pesticides, their ecological and economic limitations are discussed. As an innovative approach, the sterile insect technique (SIT) is examined, including its theoretical basis, practical application, and effectiveness.
