Abstract

This article examines the morphological properties of irrigated soils in the Karakul oasis, located in the lower reaches of the Zarafshan River, and their relationship with microbiological activity. The study was conducted based on soil profile analyses, during which the color characteristics of soil horizons, mechanical composition, structure, and distribution of carbonates were determined. The results showed that the upper layers of the soil profile exhibit higher microbiological activity due to the higher content of organic matter, while this activity decreases with increasing depth. It was also found that the morphological structure and agrophysical properties of the soil have a direct influence on the development of microorganisms.
