Abstract
The article examines the dynamics of moisture and thermophysical parameters of sandy loam sod-podzolic soils during strawberry cultivation. The authors found that unsystematic irrigation with arbitrary rates leads to significant over-wetting of the soil profile, exceeding the field capacity (FC) by 2-3 times. It was established that excessive moisture reduces soil aeration to 5-6%, causing oxygen starvation of the root system, which negatively affects the yield and quality of berries. Data on changes in volumetric heat capacity and thermal diffusivity of the soil depending on its moisture level are presented.
