Abstract
The article presents the results of a study on the economic and forage qualities of three promising plant species: spherical astragalus, Khorasan sainfoin, and desert wheatgrass, which are considered highly nutritious fodder crops for livestock. The establishment of cultivated pastures and hayfields using astragalus, sainfoin, and wheatgrass in the foothill pasture zones creates favorable conditions for a significant increase in pasture productivity, improvement of forage quality, enrichment of the vegetation cover with new plant species possessing high nutritional value, and the preparation of high-quality hay for winter feeding.
