Abstract
This article describes the effect of mung bean and common bean grown as a repeated crop, as well as the application rates of mineral fertilizers, on the soil bulk density under the conditions of irrigated stony–gravelly light sierozem soils of Southern Fergana. The results of the study showed that the cultivation of mung bean and common bean reduced soil density by 0.02–0.06 g/cm³ compared to the control. The most optimal agrophysical condition of the soil was observed in the variants N₂₀P₄₀K₂₀ for mung bean (1.31 g/cm³) and N₄₀P₆₀K₄₀ for common bean (1.32 g/cm³). It was proven that the root system of leguminous crops performs the function of a “biological loosener”, improving soil aeration and water permeability
